Shireen obtained a B.Sc. in psychology from the University of Toronto and was a successful writer and computer programmer when she "slammed and somersaulted into the unknown life of brain injury with its paradoxes."
She has since made it her mission to change the standard medical treatment of brain injury to one based on healing the injury, restoring talents, abilities, skills, and a social life. She is an award-winning writer and has been published widely, including in Psychology Today. Shireen joins us to discuss her unique journey re-learning to read and comprehend after brain injury.
